She and the Sea
She & the Sea is an Australian based Surfwear company celebrating women in the water. The 'Une Capsule' range is the second collection from She and the Sea and the first to use sustainable nylon fabrics created from reclaimed ghost fishing nets, old nylon carpets and other discarded waste. 'Ghost nets' amount to over 600,000 tonnes of lost gear every year and the main hazard for marine life – from invertebrates to large marine mammals. Each one left uncollected will rape our oceans killing all sea life it catches for decades.
She and the Sea's suits are designed to allow women to feel their best whilst being in the ocean. Women are their inspiration, in all our beautiful shapes and sizes, focusing on practicality without losing femininity.
They pride themselves on making each piece in limited numbers in order to keep up with their ethos of slowing down the fast fashion trend.
"Designed for the girl who is flamboyant, elegant and free-spirited.
Who paddles out to the lineup and doesn’t even flinch.
Who always wears her rings made from silver and turquoise,
salty hair, nose dotted with freckles and her feminine charm.
These are the girls who take off on a wave and dances all the way to shore.
They do it again and again, all day totally in their element until the
sun says goodbye and the moon says hello."
